Sure Start Children's Centres
Sure Start Children's Centres are a great place to access support on a one to one basis from a Family Outreach Worker, or to attend groups.

Early Help Young Parents Support Groups
Early Help provides a number of Young Parents Support Groups based in a variety of community settings, offering support from the beginning of pregnancy to birth.The groups are facilitated by trained youth workers, some with specialist skills and knowledge relating to Teenage pregnancy and parenting.In addition we offer a condom and pregnancy testing service along side all groups.The groups focus is on the needs of the young person/parent primarily, they provide informal education and personal development opportunities. Some groups develop peer education work.
In Hinckley & Bosworth, 1 to 1 support is available for Bagworth, Ratby, Stanton, Groby, Markfield and Thornton - contact Sam Harris on 07507 144 256, a young parents group meets at Earl Shilton from 10.15 - 12.15 (brunch included). A referral only programme tailored to suit early help parents. 6 weeks antenatally and 2 weeks postnatally.
An evidence based, accredited 8 week programme of antenatal education designed for vulnerable parents. The programme covers all aspects of labour, birth, feeding, caring and bonding with your newborn baby. A mixture of carefully designed sessions to include practical tasks, small group work, discussions and even crafts, all used to enhance learning and confidence. Peer support within the small groups of 8-10 is invaluable and a powerful support in the future months.
This programme is by referral only, so please speak to your midwife, health visitor or Children's Centre to find out more.
The Baby Beginnings Team
Prospects helps young people to access work, education and training opportunities across Leicestershire. We have offices in Loughborough and Hinckley, as well as a range of drop in sessions throughout the county where you can see your Personal Adviser and receive support. We can help with jobsearch, CV’s, applying to college and provide information, advice and guidance from qualified staff. We can also support young parents to find help to fund childcare and activities to help them return to learning and employment.
Hinckley and Bosworth District
We hold drop sessions at our Prospects Centre on Castle Street in Hinckley Monday – Friday from 1 to 4pm with appointments from 9 – 12 pm. We run a Job Club at our Centre on Thursdays, drop in from 1 to 3pm. Drop into the Earl Shilton Library on Fridays 12 – 2 pm. Prospects staff will attend teen parents group at Surestart Centres, to run workshops on job seeking or arrange individual appointments according to your needs.

For those who find it easier to be seen in Leicester City, we hold drop in sessions from 1 - 4pm Monday to Friday for County residents at Connexions, alternatively you can book an appointment from 9am to 12.00.

Family Information Service
Leicestershire's Family Information Service (FIS) provides information, advice and guidance for families who have children or young people aged 0-20 years. We also provide this service to professionals who work with children, young people and families.
